Virtue

This Virtue section is a catalog of virtues practiced in the Catholic tradition.

A catalog of virtues serves similar purposes as the star charts of astronomy, the human genome project of genetics, taxonomy volumes for biology, and concordances of Scripture.

According to the great philosopher Aristotle, every virtue is a mean between two vices: kindness a mean between cruelty and spinelessness; courage a mean between cowardice and rashness; etc.

A virtue is an idea that must be put into action. Since an idea is immaterial, virtue as an immaterial reality that can only expressed in the material world through the human body.

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others." --- Cicero
